about me

I am a visual artist and machine learning researcher based in Paris, France. I grew up in Berkeley, California.
I divide my time between art and AI research. I am a strong proponent of free software and lefty politics.

I graduated from Bard College in 2021 and completed my master’s degree in mathematics at Université Paris-Saclay in 2023.

In my technical work, I research machine learning, focusing on adapters and ex post facto modifications for pretrained diffusion models.
As an artist, I am interested in bodies as semiotic objects, and higher levels of indexicality in appearance. I reject the notion that any human body can be “natural”, as well as the usually-fundamental distinction between actor and subject, between foreground and background. I explore these themes in my work primarily by spatial modulation within the pictoral object, but also through my choices of models and subjects.
